hemmend-modulierend in Bewegungsabläufe („R.-Hemmung“) eingreifende Zwischen- = Interneurone im Vorderhorn des Rückenmarks. Sie werden kollateral von Axonen der Motoneurone („Motoaxonen“) aktiviert u. hemmen die Motoneurone sowie die Interneurone der antagonistischen Hemmung („rekurrente Hemmung“); Krampfgifte (z.B. Strychnin) blockieren diese Hemmung u. führen so zu Muskelkrämpfen.
